About Allie

March 1, 2008

I go by the name of Allie on this blog but that’s not my real name. I am a thirty-year-old student studying a Biomedical Sciences major with a theme in Ethics at the local state university. I live in a medium-sized town in the mid-west. I’ve worked in health care for the past seven years or so and currently work for a small hospital. I love my job, some days more than others.

As for writing, I’ve always used it as an outlet, keeping quite a few journals over the years and writing for my little high school and college publications. Blogging interested me mainly because of the interaction with others but also, I suppose, because it was something new. I started about a year and a half ago and recently changed sites as I decided that I’d rather be an anonymous blogger and the other site was not so anonymous. I don’t think this decision is because I have anything particularly damning to say, I think it’s just my comfort level.

As for the sundry details of me, let’s see… Faith is important to me, though I struggle with it sometimes. I am single and live with a very fuzzy cat who thinks it she is a dog. I’m actively trying to become a better cook because, well, I need to eat and McDonald’s just doesn’t cut it health-wise, plus going out is expensive. I think of Rachael Ray as my cooking guru since everything I know how to make is something from her show, or an improvisation thereof. I like to work out, especially run–once I actually get started–though I am by no means a distance runner. I wish I could be but I don’t think my body likes to run long distances. I love baseball, especially when I am at the park but I’ll watch my team on t.v. too. I am totally a city girl and dream of the day when I can live somewhere surrounded by a concrete jungle; my city (while not really small) is getting a little cramped for me.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Feel free to comment and/or to send me a message. Don’t be shy; I’m nice. :)
